http://www.ecbrown.org/textlinks.htm This is not itself a free download site. Rather, it is a page giving access to links for mp3 downloads. The page seems to be well-organized and put together by someone who is enthusiastic about mp3s. Following a link on this site I was able to download an entire album by someone called Ian Nagoski, electronic stuff. Webmaster Brown seems to be a fan of this stuff, so I think I'll play it a few times and see if it grows on me. Not to everyone's taste, I imagine. The album is called WARM COURSING BLOOD, is in four tracks, and, as of 22 October 2006, was downloadable at: No info about Nagoski himself on the download page so I took a look at phobos.server.com, which, on the face of it, was last updated in 1988 and tells us stuff about a Soviet Mars probe. So I Googled "Ian Nagoski" with WARM COURSING BLOOD as the exact phrase, which threw up 146 pages. That was where my interest in the artist expired and I went back to my HTML code. I followed the link to "EC Brown Main site" and that took me to: which has an eclectic selection of links, one being to a site about Internet theory. I didn't know the Internet had a theory, I just thought it was a free-rolling global data catastrophe, a kind of information avalanche. Does an avalanche really need a theory? Well, need it or not, seems someone's been therorizing. |
Just love this Internet stuff. Everyone can be a "webmaster." Sounds like you're one of the lords of infinite time and space. What it means, in practice, is that you spend an infinite amount of time writing HTML code, if you're hand-coding everything yourself, the way I do it. Okay, so you want to email me to tell me how bad my site design is. Don't bother. Other people have been there before you, and, on this matter, I am completely indifferent to the world's opinion. I am the client, and I am satisfied. This is my ego paradise and I'm happy here. If you don't like this website, go build your own, but don't bother bugging me to tell me how I should build mine. That message has been sent, more than once, and I don't need it again, thank you very much. If you have any other issues you want to take up with me, you're free to email me. at: If you want your message to be read rather than (a) deleted and (b) branded as spam, then you MUST start the message line with the upper-case word "MESSAGE." People who ignore this instruction sometimes get their email messages read anyway, but, over the years, I've probably deleted a heap of them without noticing it. Good options for a message line would include: MESSAGE MP3S MESSAGE SECRET CLEARANCE PASSWORD "SPAMMERSBURNINHELL" Or something similar. The key point is to start the message line with "MESSAGE," and note that "MESSAGE" is all you need. No need to get fancy. If you're too stubborn and bloody minded to follow these clear, simple, logical instructions, well, good luck, and I hope you have fun enjoying the Internet, but don't be too hopeful about getting a reply from me. In general, I am philosophically opposed to capital punishment, but I am gradually working my way round to the position that instituting the death penalty would be a good way to start tackling the problem of spam.
